BLUE GALAXY
Blue Galaxy (2016-2019) was a collaboration in abstract painting and music between Cardo and Frozen Fields, a duo of cello and electronic music. As paintings were created, the bands’ music was produced and recorded live in Cardo’s Catskill, New York studio. Over a series of ‘immersions’ lasting up to four weeks, artists pushed the limits of flow through the interplay of pigment and sound in a fluid microcosm. Blue Galaxy surpasses individual techniques to create an audio-visual transponder attuned to the frequency of its' time.
The Blue Galaxy period yielded over 120 paintings and 300 hours of recorded music.
